DIVINE CHAT
A pastor’s job is to lead congregants to a closer relationship with the divine. With Christmas approaching, many are writing sermons they hope will do just that. Yet surveys show that Americans’ trust in clergy has hit a record low. More people now pray in their cars than in churches.

Perhaps inevitably, tech bros [os empresários de TI] in Silicon Valley are taking the wheel. “Text with Jesus,” an app built with OpenAI’s Chat GPT, allows users to pose personal and theological questions. Represented by an avatar with a well-trimmed hipster beard, the virtual Jesus responds with friendly nudges [provocações] and quotes from scripture. “I hear you sister, honest doubt matters and you’re not alone in it,” he responds to an admission of skepticism about the resurrection. The app suggests selecting a denomination and offers a range of biblical figures and apostles to consult. For gentle advice consider Mary; for a more combative, even controversial, conversation, perhaps Cain or Judas.

The app has about 150,000 users and is popular in big American cities like New York, but also in Mexico and across South America. It too has doubters. AI Jesus is too concerned “with providing answers palatable to the eager ears of 21st-century users,” wrote James Spencer of the Christian Post, a news website. He reckons the bot barely resembles biblical Jesus – to his horror, he writes, it wouldn’t unequivocally affirm that Jesus is God. Stéphane Peter, the app’s French-born founder, admits that his own mother thinks his innovation is blasphemous.

Pope Leo has cautioned Catholics against reading wisdom into aggregated data. Expect other faith leaders to follow. Elon Musk once warned that “with artificial intelligence we are summoning the demon.” At least for now the Satan feature on “Text with Jesus” isn’t on by default – it has to be enabled in the settings and is only available to subscribers.

Resolução do Jazz

Atenção ao comando: a questão está invertida.

O enunciado pergunta o que NÃO é sustentado pelo texto ("which of the following is most likely not supported").

Etapa 1. Caçando a base textual de cada alternativa:

B) "Working with Christian theological matters is not the app's sole objective."

"allows users to pose personal and theological questions"\text{"allows users to pose } \textbf{personal and theological} \text{ questions"}

O texto diz que o aplicativo aceita perguntas pessoais e teológicas. Logo, o teológico não é o único objetivo. Sustentada.

C) "The app provides access to a friendly, modern-looking version of Jesus."

"Represented by an avatar with a well-trimmed hipster beard, the virtual Jesus responds with friendly nudges"\text{"Represented by an avatar with a } \textbf{well-trimmed hipster beard} \text{, the virtual Jesus responds with } \textbf{friendly nudges} \text{"}

Barba hipster bem aparada é a definição de "modern-looking"; "friendly nudges" é literalmente "friendly". Sustentada.

D) "The app's AI Jesus can interact politely even with app users who have doubts."

"I hear you sister, honest doubt matters and you’re not alone in it," he responds to an admission of skepticism about the resurrection.\text{"} \textbf{I hear you sister, honest doubt matters and you're not alone in it} \text{," he responds to an admission of skepticism about the resurrection.}

Sustentada.

E) "The app can provide access to Biblical characters who may not be 100% aligned with Jesus."

"for a more combative, even controversial, conversation, perhaps Cain or Judas"\text{"for a more combative, even controversial, conversation, perhaps } \textbf{Cain or Judas} \text{"}

Caim, o primeiro assassino, e Judas, o traidor. Difícil imaginar figuras menos alinhadas. Sustentada.

Etapa 2. A alternativa que sobra:

A) "The app concentrates on Christianity and avoids dealing with the Jewish essence of Jesus."

"concentrates on Christianity"Sim, "suggests selecting a denomination", "quotes from scripture", figuras cristãs
"avoids dealing with the Jewish essence of Jesus"Não, o artigo nunca toca nesse assunto

Etapa 3. O resumo da caçada:

AlternativaPassagem que a sustentaVeredito
Anenhumaé a resposta ✓\checkmark
B"personal and theological questions"sustentada
C"well-trimmed hipster beard" · "friendly nudges"sustentada
D"I hear you sister, honest doubt matters"sustentada
E"perhaps Cain or Judas"sustentada

D) Incorreta como resposta, pois é sustentada: a resposta "I hear you sister, honest doubt matters" é dada a um usuário cético.

Conferindo a alternativa:
